Our engineering team is growing rapidly, and we're looking for an engineering manager to help us grow responsibly from technical and people-oriented standpoints. In this role, you'll be given the opportunity to have a large amount of impact and autonomy. Ideally you'll be able to grow as our company grows, leading larger teams as we scale. You will shepherd our team as we build the technology that enables our product to serve our users in a meaningful way.
-Work closely with your team and others across the company to enable sustainable and timely delivery of solutions to address business needs
-Facilitate partnerships between engineers, product managers, and designers to set the right goals and solve problems
-Advocate for and implement engineering best practices and develop technical strategies to guide short and long-term plans
-Nurture a healthy, collaborative engineering culture aligned with our values
-Build, lead, and serve an effective and diverse team of engineers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands-on career development
-Lead a team of experienced engineers
-Coach and mentor the professional and technical development of your team members. Help develop their careers and assign them to projects tailored to their skill levels, work styles, and professional goals
-Grow the team thoughtfully by understanding business needs, addressing team skill gaps, and prioritizing a diverse top of funnel
-Work with your team and across Fiveable to maintain a prioritized backlog and create short-term and long-term goals. Estimating and predicting team requirements -based on future product needs
-Provide continuous feedback, address underperformance, and recognize the individual strengths and contributions of your team members
-Create a team environment that values collaboration, empathy, and respect
