Anti-Semitism refers to the prejudice, discrimination, or hostility directed towards Jews as a religious, ethnic, or racial group. In Europe, this has been a recurring issue throughout history and was particularly severe during the Holocaust.
Pogroms: These are violent riots aimed at the massacre or persecution of an ethnic or religious group, particularly one aimed at Jews.
Holocaust: This was a systematic state-sponsored genocide where six million Jews were murdered by Nazi Germany during World War II.
Zionism: This is a movement for (originally) the re-establishment and (now) the development and protection of a Jewish nation in what is now Israel.
