The Duma was a legislative body in the ruling assembly of Russia and of some other republics within the USSR. It was first established by Tsar Nicholas II in 1906.
State Duma: This is the lower house of parliament in modern Russia, similar to the House of Representatives in U.S. Congress.
Tsar Nicholas II: He was the last Emperor of Russia who established the Duma before he was overthrown during Russian Revolution.
Russian Constitution of 1906: This constitution created by Tsar Nicholas II set up a multi-party system and allowed for creation of the Duma.
