Definition

The Flemish Separatist Movement is a political and cultural movement in Belgium that advocates for the independence of Flanders, the Dutch-speaking northern region of the country. This movement emerged due to linguistic, economic, and cultural differences between Flanders and Wallonia, the French-speaking southern region.
