Guns and gunpowder refer to the development and use of firearms, which were powered by the explosive force of gunpowder. This technology originated in China but had a significant impact on European warfare from the 14th century onwards.
Cannon: A large, heavy piece of artillery typically mounted on wheels that uses gunpowder to launch projectiles over great distances.
Muskets: An infantryman's light gun with a long barrel, typically smooth-bored, muzzleloading, and fired from the shoulder.
Siege Warfare: A form of warfare where an attacking army surrounds a fortified place (like a castle) in an attempt to starve it into submission; cannons played a crucial role in these sieges due to their ability to break down walls from afar.
