The Hall of Mirrors is a grand baroque-style gallery and one of the most famous rooms in the Palace of Versailles, France. It was used for lavish receptions and ceremonies, including the signing of the Treaty of Versailles in 1919.
Louis XIV: Known as Louis the Great or Sun King, he commissioned many works at Versailles including the Hall of Mirrors.
Baroque Architecture: A style characterized by extravagant and highly detailed design. The Hall of Mirrors is an example of Baroque architecture.
Treaty of Versailles: Signed at the end of World War I, it held Germany responsible for starting the war and imposed heavy penalties on them. This treaty was signed in the Hall Of Mirrors.
