Compass: An instrument containing a magnetized pointer that shows the direction of magnetic north and bearings from it.
Astrolabe: An ancient device used by explorers to measure latitude by observing the position of celestial bodies.
Caravel Ship Design: A small but fast ship design developed by Portuguese navigators in 15th century that allowed for better oceanic exploration.
