Paris Peace Conference

Definition

The Paris Peace Conference was a meeting of the Allied victors following the end of World War I to set peace terms for the defeated Central Powers. It took place in Paris during 1919 and its most important outcome was the Treaty of Versailles.

League of Nations: An international organization established after World War I under the provisions of the Treaty of Versailles. Its goal was to promote international cooperation and achieve peace and security, but it failed to prevent World War II.

Fourteen Points: A statement given by U.S. President Woodrow Wilson declaring that World War I was being fought for moral cause and calling for post-war peace in Europe. Many points were used in negotiations at the Paris Peace Conference.
