Definition

This is the tendency for people to favor information that confirms their pre-existing beliefs or values while ignoring contradictory evidence.

Analogy

Imagine confirmation bias as wearing colored glasses. If you're wearing red glasses, you'll see everything with a red tint and ignore other colors because your perspective is skewed towards red.
