Plot development refers to the progression of events in a story, including the introduction, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution.
Think of plot development as building a roller coaster. The introduction is like slowly climbing up the first hill, the rising action is the thrilling twists and turns, the climax is the highest point of excitement, the falling action is when things start to calm down, and the resolution is when you safely reach the end.
Conflict: A struggle or problem that drives the plot forward.
Foreshadowing: Hints or clues about future events in a story.
Subplot: A secondary storyline that runs parallel to the main plot.
