The term "Pueblos" refers to the Native American people of the Southwestern United States who share common agricultural, material and religious practices. It also refers to their unique multi-story buildings made from stone or adobe.
Think of Pueblos like a tightly-knit neighborhood in a modern city. Each building (or apartment complex) houses multiple families, just like the multi-story structures in Pueblo communities.
Hopi: A subgroup of Pueblo people who live primarily in what is now northeastern Arizona.
Zuni: Another subgroup of Pueblo people known for their intricate jewelry and pottery, residing mainly in New Mexico.
Adobe: A type of building material made from earth and organic materials; used by the Pueblos to construct their distinctive dwellings.
