Beliefs are the convictions or acceptances that something is true or exists, especially ones without empirical evidence. Within the context of sociology, beliefs form an essential part of a culture's norms and values, influencing behavior and social structure.
Beliefs in a culture can be likened to the foundation of a building; just as a foundation supports and shapes the structure built upon it, beliefs underpin and shape the cultural practices, norms, and values of a society.
Norms: The rules and expectations by which a society guides the behavior of its members.
Values: The shared principles and ideals that are important to a community or society, guiding decisions and actions.
Culture: The sum total of ways of living built up by a group of human beings, transmitted from one generation to another
