The arctangent function, denoted as atan(x) or tan^(-1)(x), is the inverse of the tangent function. It gives us the angle whose tangent is equal to a given value.
Tangent function: The tangent function relates an angle in a right triangle to the ratio of its opposite side length to its adjacent side length.
Inverse functions: Inverse functions "undo" each other. They reverse the effect of applying a particular function.
Trigonometry: Trigonometry deals with relationships between angles and sides in triangles, including functions like sine, cosine, and tangent.
